Newgiza University (NGU) Signs an International Agreement to Establish the “Euro-Mediterranean Academy”

Newgiza University (NGU), headed by Professor Dr. Ahmed Sameh Farid, signed an international agreement to establish the “Euro-Mediterranean Academy”, as part of the university’s efforts to enhance academic and scientific cooperation at regional and international levels. The ceremony was held in the city of Sorrento, Italy, on the sidelines of the international conference “Towards the South” and was attended by representatives from various participating universities and institutions.

The agreement includes leading universities and institutions in the region, namely: the University of Naples Federico II (Italy), the Polytechnic University of Bari (Italy), the Euromed University of Fes (Morocco), in addition to the Association of Arab Universities and the Union for the Mediterranean.

Professor Dr. Ahmed Sameh Farid represented Newgiza University (NGU) during the signing and affirmed that this step is part of the university’s strategy to open up to the world and strengthen its role as an academic bridge between the North and South.

Dr. Ahmed Sameh Farid added that the agreement aims to establish a joint framework for cooperation in education, training and scientific research through the development of joint academic and training programs, exchange of professors, researchers and students among the universities, organizing workshops, seminars and scientific conferences, as well as exchanging academic publications and research journals. This comes within the context of supporting innovation and capacity building, contributing to enhancing the quality of higher education across the Mediterranean region.

The agreement focuses on several priority core areas, including Energy and Environmental Transition, Advanced Science and Technology (STEM), Sustainability and Innovation in the Agrifood Supply Chain, Life Sciences, as well as Humanities and Social Studies. The agreement also opens the door for future expansion to include additional academic disciplines.
