The School of Economics and Politics (SOEP) was pleased to host Ms. Salma Sabri for an insightful seminar on Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) in the context of development cooperation.
Ms. Sabri emphasized that M&E is more than just a department within an organization—it is a way of life, playing a central role in promoting transparency, learning, and continuous improvement. She also highlighted the challenges organizations face in conducting M&E, including the tendency to overestimate results and the difficulty of producing transparent and timely reports.
Beyond the technical aspects, students were encouraged to explore M&E as a field full of exciting career opportunities. Ms. Sabri recommended relevant courses, professional tracks, and graduate programs for those interested in development and impact assessment.
We extend our sincere thanks to Ms. Sabri for providing SOEP students with a fresh and inspiring perspective on this crucial academic and professional path, and for her engaging, thoughtful, and truly enlightening presentation.
