The NGU School of Pharmacy hosted a visit by the Dean of the UCL School of Pharmacy (Prof. Cate Whittlesea), from 18 to 20 November 2025, during which A/Prof. Rania Salama was assigned as the visit coordinator.
The visit included several meetings with the QAU team, Curriculum Development team, Assessment team, Exam Review team, module teams for PHAR501 and PHAR502, Community Service team, representatives of Scientific Research, SOP Staff members and TAs, SOP students from different years, as well as representatives from NGU central administrations (Student Affairs and Admission – HR – Marketing – Library).
The visit also included several visits to the SOP facilities (lecture halls, student and research laboratories, and the dispensary), NGU Hospital, and Al-Salam International Hospital.
QAU sent the requested documents prior to the visit on the scheduled date (6 October 2025), which included: Self-assessment report (Annual School Report 2024/2025), Annual internal report (Annual Program Report 2024/2025) (align to New NAQAAE template), Teaching, Learning, and Assessment Strategy, SOP strategic plan 2021–2026 and its report 2021–2024, The Program Specifications (align to New NAQAAE template), Module Specifications 2024/2025 & 2025/2026 (align to New NAQAAE template), Module Reports 2024/2025 (align to New NAQAAE template), NAQAAE feedback and recommendations 2024 with SOP response, NGU-QUB External Quality Review Report 2023 with SOP response, Documentation relating to preceptors on placements; include the Procedure of placement visits and feedback, Module feedback from students across all years; include the Procedure for student voice/feedback, Staff development plan; include staff development report (2021-2025), Documentation relating to site accreditation: New NAQAAE release for Institutional Accreditation Manual (2015), and Documentation relating to site accreditation: New NAQAAE release for Program Accreditation Standards (2022).
At the end of the visit, Prof. Cate Whittlesea expressed her thanks to Dr. Manal Maher and SOP team, highlighting several positive aspects of the School and suggesting areas for future development.
