NGU Hosts the World Robot Olympiad Egypt 2025 for the Third Consecutive Year
Newgiza University (NGU) proudly hosted the World Robot Olympiad (WRO) Egypt 2025 for the third consecutive year, reaffirming its commitment to fostering innovation, creativity, and STEM education among Egypt’s youth. The event took place on Saturday, September 27, and gathered 28 finalist teams of students aged 10 to 18, competing for the opportunity to represent Egypt at the World Robot Olympiad International Finals in Singapore this November.
The competition served as a dynamic platform for Egypt’s brightest young innovators to showcase their technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and teamwork through robotics challenges designed to inspire creativity and technological advancement.
Hosted under the umbrella of NGU IEEE, the event reflects NGU’s dedication to nurturing future engineers, scientists, and innovators by providing them with hands-on experiences that bridge learning with real-world applications. NGU continues to play a pivotal role in empowering students to think critically, collaborate effectively, and contribute to the global innovation ecosystem.

Newgiza University Celebrates the Class of 2024 in a Grand Graduation Ceremony
Newgiza University (NGU) proudly celebrated the graduation of the Class of 2024 across its distinguished Schools of Medicine, Dentistry, Business and Finance, Economics and Politics, and Information Technology, in a series of unforgettable ceremonies that marked the beginning of a new chapter for NGU’s future leaders.
The celebrations reflected NGU’s ongoing commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and leadership, honoring the achievements of its graduates as they step confidently into their professional journeys. The events were attended by notable public figures, esteemed academics, and proud families who shared in the joy of this milestone moment.
The School of Medicine graduation ceremony was honored by the presence of Eng. Ibrahim Mahlab, former Prime Minister and Chairman of NGU’s Board of Trustees, and Prof. Dr. Ahmed Sameh Farid, President of NGU and former Minister of Health and Population. The ceremony also welcomed Prof. Dr. Hossam Badrawi, Professor at Qasr El Aini, as a guest speaker, alongside Prof. Dr. Awad Tag El-Din, Presidential Advisor for Health Affairs, and Prof. Dr. Ashraf Hatem, Chairman of the Health Committee in the Egyptian Parliament and former Minister of Health. NGU Launches the 1st Edition of NGU Fashion Talks
In a pioneering step aimed at developing the professional and practical skills of students in the Fashion Design Program at NGU School of Arts and Design, Newgiza University (NGU) organized the inaugural edition of the international fashion forum “NGU Fashion Talks”.
The event took place from the 1st to the 3rd of December, bringing together a distinguished group of local and international leaders in the field of fashion design. It provided an exceptional platform for exchanging diverse expertise and exploring the latest trends and technologies in the fashion industry.
A Platform for Creativity and Global Perspectives
“NGU Fashion Talks” was officially inaugurated by Professor Dr. Abeer Hassan Abdo, Dean of the School of Arts and Design at NGU, who expressed her pride in hosting such a prestigious event. She highlighted how this initiative reflects NGU’s commitment to preparing a distinguished generation of fashion designers attuned to the latest global design trends.
Three Days of Lectures and Interactive Workshops
The first edition of “NGU Fashion Talks” presented a rich schedule of events, featuring a distinguished group of local and international fashion designers including Shahira Fahmy, Shahira Lasheen and Dina Shaker, as well as fashion consultants and entrepreneurs like Suzanne Thabet, Mohamed Sami, Ahmed El Saadi, Mohamed Farid and Rana Kandil. These experts enriched the forum through engaging panel discussions and interactive workshops, offering attendees valuable insights into the latest trends and developments in the fashion world. Moreover, international fashion experts from the USA, France, South Korea and Portugal shared their global practices and experiences, elevating the forum’s discussions and activities.

Newgiza University (NGU) Celebrates the Graduation of a New Batch of Bachelor’s Degree Students
Newgiza University (NGU), headed by Prof. Dr. Ahmed Sameh Farid, celebrated the graduation of a new batch of its students, where 571 students across 5 NGU Schools received their bachelor’s degrees, namely the Schools of Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Business & Finance, and the School of Economics & Politics.
The ceremony was attended by Prof. Dr. Ahmed Sameh Farid, President of Newgiza University, and Prof. Lamis Ragab, NGU Vice President, who welcomed a number of distinguished guests, including Dr. Mohamed Awad Taj El-Din, Former Minister of Health and Population and Advisor to Egyptian President for Health and Prevention Affairs, Eng. Ibrahim Mahlab, Former Prime Minister of Egypt and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Newgiza University, Dr. Ahmed Nazif, Former Prime Minister of Egypt and Chairman of the Advisory Council of Newgiza University, as well as H.E. Mr. Gareth Bayley, the British Ambassador to Egypt.
Prof. Dr. Ahmed Sameh Farid expressed his joy and pride on that day as he celebrates the graduation of a new batch of NGU students. He described the ceremony as a day of harvest for everyone; for the students, their families, the professors, and NGU staff, expressing his pride as he witnesses NGU graduates being educated, cultured, enlightened, open-minded youth capable of competing globally, regionally, and locally. Prof. Farid made an exciting announcement revealing to the students that their connection with NGU will be further strengthened through the new postgraduate programs that the university will launch soon in partnership with major Egyptian and international universities.
Eng. Ibrahim Mahlab praised the integrated scientific and administrative system of Newgiza University, which was able within a short period of time to put NGU in a prominent position among the region’s top universities. He also announced the major expansion of Newgiza University through the construction of five new buildings to accommodate the increasing number of students applying to NGU, in addition to the completion of construction of the Newgiza University Hospital which will be inaugurated in July and comprises the latest world-class equipments.
H.E. Mr. Gareth Bayley, the British Ambassador to Egypt, expressed his contentment and honor for being hosted once again at NGU describing it as a prestigious university that provides the highest level of British Higher Education in collaboration with top British universities, namely University College London (UCL) and King’s College London (KCL). Moreover, he assured NGU students that they are now equipped with determination and dynamism, modernity and employability which will drive them to achieve the highest levels of success and progress in their lives.
The graduation ceremony this year witnessed an important event for Newgiza University, which is the graduation of the first batch of students from the School of Economics and Politics, with both of its specializations; Economics and Politics, marking a new milestone for NGU towards creating the most competent graduates in prestigious fields who brilliantly exceed the requirements of the local and international labor markets.



NGU launches “NGU CONNECT – Elevate Your Career” Employment Event
NGU School of Business and Finance organized its prominent employment event “NGU CONNECT – Elevate your Career”, on Tuesday 23 May 2023, sponsored by Orange and Banque Misr.
NGU CONNECT is a one-day employment and internship event that provides a forum for cultivating and developing productive relationships between NGU students, graduating seniors and alumni, and the corporate world. The event featured a wide range of renowned employers spanning across different industries, in addition to several distinguished sponsors, giving these companies the opportunity to build their corporate image on NGU campus, and allowing them to select the best candidates for their internship and employment opportunities.
NGU was extremely proud of its student entrepreneurs who participated in the event with their startup businesses, which gave them a great opportunity to blend in with the professional environment, exposed them to the market, and gave them the chance to get in direct contact with investors, business incubators and accelerators. The students’ startups comprised a variety of business ideas including unique fashion and accessories concepts, plant nurseries and landscaping, travel and marketing agencies, food and dessert stores, packaging solutions, in addition to Revart Film Festival, which is the first Vertical Film Festival in the MENA region.
To help NGU students confidently and competently kickstart their careers, NGU CONNECT held a variety of intellectual and career boosting sessions, giving students across all NGU Schools hands-on experience in different fields from professional calibers in the market. The sessions included a handpicked set of topics ranging from personal branding, to interview and resume guidelines, to guidance on how to pursue your career in a highly digital era, among other topics.
While NGU CONNECT is a professional event, it was surrounded with a lot of fun vibes. NGU music club enchanted the event’s attendees with their mesmerizing music and songs, showcasing their extraordinary talents. The event also featured
several exquisite food vendors providing a variety of gourmet food choices to NGU CONNECT attendees.
It was a spectacular day full of business, learning, fun and exceptional talents.
