NGU School of Medicine and Misr El Kheir Foundation Sign Cooperation Protocol to Empower Medical Students in Community Service
Under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Lamis Ragab, Vice President of Newgiza University (NGU), the School of Medicine proudly signed a cooperation protocol with Misr El Kheir Foundation, one of Egypt’s leading nonprofit organizations dedicated to eradicating poverty, illness, and illiteracy through sustainable human development.
The agreement was signed by Prof. Dr. Lamiaa Mohsen, Dean of the School of Medicine, and Eng. Sherif Azouz, Director of the Volunteer Department at Misr El Kheir Foundation. This collaboration forms part of the national “Basma” initiative, which aims to structure and empower volunteerism across Egypt—promoting a culture of social responsibility and civic engagement among youth.

Newgiza University (NGU) signed an MoU between its School of Information Technology (SOIT) and GoAI247, the AI arm for GoChat247. The agreement was signed by Prof. Dr. Lamis Ragab on behalf of NGU and by Eng. Wael Abouelella on behalf of GoChat247.

NGU & Gemini Africa Launch “Undergraduates Incubator” Program
Prof. Dr. Lamis Ragab, Vice President of Newgiza University, along with Eng. Adly Thoma, CEO of Gemini Africa, recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to launch the Gemini NGU Undergraduates Incubator. Also present at the event were Mrs. Mary Adib, Gemini Programs Technical Director, and Mr. Abdallah Hafiz, Gemini Africa Entrepreneurship and Operations Specialist.

Newgiza University (NGU) signs a cooperation protocol with the National Council for Human Rights (NCHR)
Prof. Dr. Ahmed Sameh Farid, President of NGU, and Ambassador Moushira Khattab, President of the NCHR, signed a cooperation protocol between the two institutions in an attempt to promote and build the human rights’ culture among the university’s community.
This initiative stems from NGU’s mission to develop its students, both educationally and pedagogically, and the pivotal role that the NCHR plays in endorsing and promoting human rights, together with the eagerness of both institutions to effectively contribute to the implementation of Egypt’s National Human Rights Strategy within the country’s 2030 Vision.
The protocol signing was witnessed by Ambassador Mahmoud Karem, Vice President of the NCHR, Dr. Hala Sakr, Dean of the School of Economics and Politics at NGU, Ambassador Fahmi Fayed, Secretary-General of the NCHR, and Dr. Hoda Shaltout, political science lecturer at NGU.
This agreement aims to educate the university’s students on human rights, through preparing and implementing joint programs that work on building new cadres and a new generation of university graduates who are qualified, as well as believers in the culture of respecting and promoting human rights. This will be achieved through on-going seminars, conferences, educational training materials, and publications on social media platforms.
The protocol also aims to prepare specialists in the field of human rights who will become advocates and ambassadors for human rights and can raise awareness about diverse humanitarian issues. This will be realized through experts and specialists exchange between NGU and the NCHR to implement the joint activities, as well as adopting and implementing a program of experts and faculty members visits, in addition to organizing various field visits for NGU students.
The cooperation protocol will follow a short, intermediate, and long-term plan with concrete deliverables, which covers all NGU schools, including the medical sector, to educate the future healthcare professionals on the rights, and how to deal with the vulnerable and marginalized groups like children, pregnant women, the elderly, minors, and those living with AIDS, among others.
Prof. Dr. Ahmed Sameh Farid, President of NGU, highlighted the vital role that this agreement will have on raising, developing, and spreading awareness of human rights in the different fields among students and the society, in addition to establishing the idea of citizenship among youth, which will instill a sense of national belonging with an identity that reflects our culture, history and challenges.
Prof. Dr. Farid added that Newgiza University (NGU) is distinguished by its modular integrated system that qualifies students to deal with issues from a multidisciplinary perspective. This will automatically be reflected on how students tackle the human rights issues, ensuring a comprehensive vision to these rights to cover healthcare, education, freedom of scientific research and creativity among other domains. He also pointed out the importance of embracing human rights and the continuous capacity building to provide integrated care, development, and social protection for all citizens without discrimination.
Ambassador Moushira Khattab, President of the NCHR, expressed her honor to cooperate with Newgiza University (NGU), highlighting the importance of youth’s awareness of human rights as they play a pivotal role in spreading the human rights culture since they represent the most vital and courageous force in the society, and hence, they are considered key players to achieve Egypt’s National Human Rights Strategy.

As part of Newgiza University’s dedication to providing a unique and integrated educational experience for its students, NGU has signed a cooperation protocol with the National Research Center; an initiative that is in line with the university’s interest in science and scientific research and aligned with Egypt’s 2030 plan which entails creating an environment that encourages science, technology, and innovation.
The cooperation protocol was signed by Dr. Ahmed Sameh Farid, NGU President, and Dr. Hussein Darwish, Acting President of the National Research Center, in the presence of Dr. Lamis Ragab, NGU Vice President, Dr. Abeer Hassan Abdo, Dean of the School of Fine Arts, in addition to Dr. Mohamed Mahmoud Hashem, Former President of the National Research Center, and Dr. Khaled Shams, the Scientific Advisor to the President of the center.
The protocol aims to foster the cooperation between Newgiza University (NGU) and the National Research Center in the academic, professional, and training fields in various areas of work. A comprehensive agreement was reached between the two entities defining the scope of cooperation in all scientific and applied fields that are of common interest, including research and joint projects which allow benefiting from both local and international funding, in addition to technology transfer activities between the two institutions on one hand and the industry on the other hand.
This protocol also entails the exchange of students, scientists, and experts between the two entities, the provision of training courses at the different academic levels, and the organization of conferences, workshops, symposiums, and seminars.
Dr. Ahmed Sameh Farid, NGU President, highlighted that the scope of cooperation with the National Research Center includes both the research and scientific fields, utilizing the proficiency and consultancy expertise of both institutions. He also emphasized that Newgiza University looks forward to a fruitful and productive cooperation with the National Research Center.
Dr. Farid explained that NGU always seeks expertise exchange with all scientific and research institutions, to create new opportunities for students and faculty members through facilitating the communication and knowledge exchange at all levels, and working on joint scientific research projects in an attempt to link education with practical training to empower students with the requirements and needs of the labor market.
Dr. Hussein Darwish, Acting President of the National Research Center, explained that the areas of cooperation between the center and Newgiza University include the joint scientific supervision of master’s and doctoral theses, as well as holding training courses at the center for master’s and doctoral students in rare specializations, in addition to using the center’s scientific library and ensuring that books, periodicals, and dissertations are available to all students.
