NGU’s Dr. Khaled Hegazy, Dean of the School of Business and Finance Joins AACSB Middle East & Africa Advisory Board

Newgiza University (NGU) proudly announces the appointment of Dr. Khaled Hegazy, Dean of the School of Business and Finance (SOBF), as a member of the AACSB Middle East & Africa Advisory Board (MEAAC), serving through June 2026.

Dr. Neamat El Gayar Takes Lead at NGU’s School of Information Technology

Newgiza University (NGU) proudly announces the appointment of Prof. Dr. Neamat El Gayar as the new Dean of the School of Information Technology. Bringing over two decades of academic and research experience across Egypt, Germany, Canada, and the UAE, Dr. El Gayar joins NGU with a strong record of leadership, innovation, and commitment to advancing the field of Artificial Intelligence.

Dr. El Gayar graduated with honors in Computer Science from Alexandria University and earned her PhD in Neural Information Processing from Ulm University, Germany, supported by a DAAD scholarship. Her extensive career includes leading the Data Mining and Machine Learning Group at Nile University, and holding research and teaching positions at Concordia University and CENPARMI in Canada. She has also served as Chair of the IAPR Technical Committee on Neural Networks and Computational Intelligence, contributing to global AI research and policy.

Before joining NGU, Dr. El Gayar served at Heriot-Watt University in Dubai, where she was the Global Director of the MSc in Artificial Intelligence, Associate Director of Research, and a member of the Academic Board of the Global Research Institute in Health and Care Technologies. Her leadership fostered impactful research collaborations and helped shape programs that bridge academia and industry.

A respected scholar and advocate for responsible and inclusive AI, Dr. El Gayar’s research focuses on Machine Learning, Computational Intelligence, and the application of AI to real-world challenges. Her appointment marks an important milestone for NGU’s School of Information Technology, reinforcing the university’s commitment to innovation, excellence, and shaping the next generation of digital leaders.

NGU Launches Master’s Program in Pharmacy: A New Milestone in Academic Excellence and Research Leadership

NGU School of Information Technology Launches Cybersecurity Program

Newgiza University (NGU) is proud to announce the official launch of the Cybersecurity Program under the School of Information Technology, expanding its range of specialized majors that now include Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, and Cybersecurity.

The newly introduced program is designed to equip students with the essential knowledge and practical expertise required to address today’s complex digital security challenges. Through an advanced curriculum focusing on digital defense, ethical hacking, and threat analysis, students will gain hands-on experience in identifying, preventing, and mitigating cyber threats across diverse sectors.

Newgiza University (NGU) Signs an International Agreement to Establish the “Euro-Mediterranean Academy”

Newgiza University (NGU), headed by Professor Dr. Ahmed Sameh Farid, signed an international agreement to establish the “Euro-Mediterranean Academy”, as part of the university’s efforts to enhance academic and scientific cooperation at regional and international levels. The ceremony was held in the city of Sorrento, Italy, on the sidelines of the international conference “Towards the South” and was attended by representatives from various participating universities and institutions.

The agreement includes leading universities and institutions in the region, namely: the University of Naples Federico II (Italy), the Polytechnic University of Bari (Italy), the Euromed University of Fes (Morocco), in addition to the Association of Arab Universities and the Union for the Mediterranean.

Professor Dr. Ahmed Sameh Farid represented Newgiza University (NGU) during the signing and affirmed that this step is part of the university’s strategy to open up to the world and strengthen its role as an academic bridge between the North and South.

Dr. Ahmed Sameh Farid added that the agreement aims to establish a joint framework for cooperation in education, training and scientific research through the development of joint academic and training programs, exchange of professors, researchers and students among the universities, organizing workshops, seminars and scientific conferences, as well as exchanging academic publications and research journals. This comes within the context of supporting innovation and capacity building, contributing to enhancing the quality of higher education across the Mediterranean region.

The agreement focuses on several priority core areas, including Energy and Environmental Transition, Advanced Science and Technology (STEM), Sustainability and Innovation in the Agrifood Supply Chain, Life Sciences, as well as Humanities and Social Studies. The agreement also opens the door for future expansion to include additional academic disciplines.

The School of Pharmacy at Newgiza University Achieves NAQAAE National Accreditation

The School of Pharmacy, Newgiza University, achieved the national institutional accreditation from the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education (NAQAAE) on 24/04/2024, becoming the first accredited School at the university.

Newgiza University extends congratulations to the Dean, academic leaders, staff members, teaching assistants, students, administrators, and technicians of the School of Pharmacy for their remarkable achievement of the national institutional accreditation granted by the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education (NAQAAE).

Notably, the School of Pharmacy promptly submitted its accreditation request to NAQAAE on 09/05/2023, immediately after the graduation of its first batch of students.

Newgiza University (NGU) and University College London (UCL) Reinforce Academic Partnership with Renewed Health Sciences Collaboration

Newgiza University (NGU), headed by Prof. Dr. Ahmed Sameh Farid, NGU President, and University College London (UCL), the No. 9 ranked university worldwide, announced the continuation of their pioneering academic partnership for the schools of health sciences (Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy) reinforcing their commitment to promoting academic excellence and developing educational opportunities, while emphasizing NGU’s pivotal role and leadership in developing medical education in Egypt as well as its eagerness to create a new generation of highly qualified, world-class healthcare professionals.

The agreement signing ceremony was attended by Prof. Dr. Ahmed Sameh Farid, NGU President, John-george Nicholson, Head of Business Development at the UCL Faculty of Medical Sciences and Business Development Director at the UCL Centre for International Medical Education Collaborations, Roger de Montfort, Managing Director at UCL Consultants, and Trish Greenan, Director of Legal at UCL Consultants.

Prof. Dr. Ahmed Sameh Farid, NGU President, explained that NGU has been collaborating academically with UCL since 2016 and has received mentorship and support in different aspects, including strategic planning, setting up appropriate infrastructure and education governance structures, and developing curricula and learning resources. He addressed UCL saying: “Together, we have reached a significant milestone in our collaboration, and we are keen to extend and grow this successful collaboration and take it to a higher level. Today, a new era in our collaboration is about to start, addressing the new NGU vision and facing future challenges in healthcare education, research and practice. This is a reflection of transformation through collaboration.”

The next phase of the collaboration entails rigorous quality management and initiatives to improve the three medical programs, including focused support in assessment, curriculum development, and comprehensive development of faculty and staff. It involves pooling the strengths and expertise of both institutions to provide a diverse and rich educational environment for students while advancing the boundaries of knowledge and expertise in the health sciences.

The continuation of collaboration aims to increase the number of highly skilled health sciences graduates in Egypt, while focusing on providing healthcare to different segments of society, in addition to fostering cultural and knowledge exchange, as well as international cooperation in health sciences education between Egypt and the United Kingdom.

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi honors NGU’s top achieving graduates on “Egypt’s Universities Excellence Day”

Newgiza University’s (NGU) top achieving graduates were honored by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi on “Egypt’s Universities Excellence Day”; an event that was held for the first time to honor the top achieving graduates of universities in Egypt and took place at the Suez Canal Authority Stadium in Ismailia Governorate.

The celebration was witnessed by Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Egypt’s Prime Minister, Dr. Mohamed Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education & Scientific Research, Dr. Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education & Technical Education, in addition to several ministers, universities’ presidents, and student unions presidents.

Prof. Dr. Ahmed Sameh Farid, NGU President, attended the celebration and was keen to share this memorable and exceptional occasion with the NGU graduates who were honored for their academic excellence. These graduates are Ahmed Amr El Metwally, from the School of Medicine, Aya Kamal Abdallah, from the School of Dentistry, Yara Ahmed Abdel Fattah Zaki, from the School of Pharmacy, and Malak Tarek Ezzat, from the School of Economics & Politics.

Prof. Dr. Farid highlighted that he strongly believes in the crucial role that the young generation has in building a brighter future for their country, and therefore it is necessary to empower them with cutting-edge knowledge, skills, and tools to qualify them to have such an impact. He added that Newgiza University (NGU) strives to provide its students with world-class academic and non-academic experiences to develop them into competent, well-rounded graduates who are capable of positively shaping the world around them.

NGU School of Economics & Politics graduate, Malak Ezzat, expressed her enthusiasm to be honored in this prestigious event. The celebration included a discussion session, followed by the graduates’ march, then President El-Sisi honored the top achievers from various universities and specializations, and ended with a memorial photo of the honored graduates with the President.

Newgiza University (NGU), headed by Prof. Dr. Ahmed Sameh Farid, NGU President, announced the minimum admissions requirements for its eight schools for the academic year 2023/2024: The School of Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Engineering, Business & Finance, Economics & Politics, Information Technology, and Fine Arts.

 

NGU’s minimum admissions requirements are as follows: the School of Medicine 80%, Dentistry 78%, Pharmacy 72%, Engineering 68%, Information Technology 60%, Business & Finance 53%, Economics & Politics 53%, and Fine Arts 53%.

 

The medical programs at NGU (Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy) are considered among the strongest medical educational programs worldwide through the academic collaboration with University College London (UCL), which is ranked among the top universities in the world. Moreover, NGU’s campus comprises state-of-the-art clinics and laboratories equipped with the latest tools and technologies to provide an integrated global experience and an early practical training to its students which begins from the first year of study. NGU also puts a strong emphasis on scientific research and scientific publishing through its thriving research center.

 

Additionally, the School of Pharmacy at NGU offers a unique modern pharmaceutical program, with a focus on clinical pharmacy which represents about 30% of the curriculum and is taught from the first year.

The Business & Finance program comprises diverse specializations including Accounting, Entrepreneurship & Innovation, Finance & Banking, Human Resource Management, International Business, in addition to Marketing.

 

As for the School of Information Technology at NGU, it provides a strong curriculum with three different specializations that reflect the continuous and rapid technological advancements globally, which are Artificial Intelligence & Data Science, Computer Science, and Biomedical Informatics. The School of Information Technology provides its students with the opportunity to study a semester abroad at the University of Nebraska, Omaha (USA), as well as to study the final year of the program at the University of Ottawa (Canada) then automatically register for a one-year master’s program at the same university.

 

The School of Information Technology at NGU accepts high school students from both Science and Mathematics branches or their equivalents.

Newgiza University (NGU) announced its tuition fees for the academic year 2023-2024 for Egyptian students wishing to enroll in its various schools.

 

The tuition fees for the School of Medicine are 210,000 LE in addition to 1,000 USD, the School of Dentistry 195,000 LE in addition to 1,000 USD, the School of Pharmacy 123,600 LE in addition to 500 USD, and the School of Business & Finance 180,000 LE.

 

Additionally, the tuition fees for the School of Economics & Politics are 127,950 LE in addition to 750 USD, the School of Information Technology 154,400 LE, the School of Engineering 152,250 LE in addition to 750 USD, and the School of Fine Arts 156,750 LE in addition to 750 USD.

 

Newgiza University’s application process involves several steps, starting with visiting the website www.ngu.edu.eg and completing the online application form, then paying the application fees (1,500 LE) through a deposit or bank transfer. Afterwards, all the required academic and non-academic documents should be sent along with the English language test score (IELTS or TOEFL). Electronic copies of the documents can be sent through the online form, while all original documents will be requested upon admission.

 

To complete the application process, the applicant is invited for an interview, after which a statement of provisional admission is sent to the applicant once he meets the entrance and academic requirements of the Ministry of Higher Education and Newgiza University (NGU). The applicant is then instructed on the next steps, the admission deadlines, and the process of tuition fees payment.
