As part of our academic collaboration with King’s College London, the School of Business and Finance at NGU is pleased to host an academic visit by Professor Sally Everett, Vice Dean (Education), Professor of Business Education, King’s Business School, and Dr. John Bredican, Teaching Fellow in Marketing, King’s Business School.
This is the second academic visit for KCL this year. The visit delivers lectures for year-two students on a variety of subjects, as well as several training sessions for the faculty members.
Through the visit the professors met with the School of Business and Finance faculty members and discussed several topics, some of which are:
- Active and collaborative learning
- Effective feedback and feedback literacy
- Fostering excellence in teaching: evaluation, reflections and round up
- Assessment for learning
- Assessment and marking criteria
They also met with the students and gave lectures on:
- Marketing Communications Principles
- Brand Communications
- Campaign Management and Design
- Marketing Communications Planning
Professor Sally Everett joined King’s Business School, King’s College London as their inaugural Professor of Business Education in January 2019, and in September became the Vice Dean for Education. Professor Everett is also the academic lead for Inclusive Education for King’s College. She was previously the Deputy Dean (Quality and Student Experience) for the Faculty of Business and Law at Anglia Ruskin University (2013 – 2018) and institutional chair for their work on inclusive learning. She is a National Teaching Fellow (awarded in 2017), a Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (2014) and was the team leader for a HEA Collaborative Award for Teaching Excellence Finalist Award (CATE) in 2016. She was awarded these fellowships in recognition of her work championing pedagogic practice in areas including internationalization, employability, and inclusive learning, and assessment.
Dr. John Bredican is a Teaching Fellow in Marketing at King’s Business School. His interests and marketing experience extend to the very beginning of his professional career as a creative writer and marketing consultant in broadcasting. John has over 20 years of professional (marketing) experience, which including managing a recording studio, a podcasting company and as a management consultant. At King’s Business School, John teaches modules at the undergraduate and postgraduate level including Principles of Marketing, Consumer Behavior, and Marketing Communications.
