The School of Pharmacy at Newgiza University offers a comprehensive postgraduate program comprising four specialised master’s degrees, designed to advance professional expertise and research capabilities in key areas of pharmaceutical sciences. Master of Clinical Pharmacy
The Master of Clinical Pharmacy at the School of Pharmacy, Newgiza University is a forward-thinking, patient-centred postgraduate program designed to prepare pharmacists for advanced clinical roles across diverse healthcare settings. Rooted in evidence-based practice and guided by the latest developments in pharmacotherapy, precision medicine, and clinical decision-making, this program equips pharmacists with the clinical expertise, critical thinking skills, and research capabilities necessary to optimise medication therapy and lead interdisciplinary healthcare teams.

Master of Pharmaceutical Chemistry
The master’s Program of Pharmaceutical Chemistry at Newgiza University is designed to prepare students for impactful careers in the pharmaceutical industry and research sectors. This program offers a robust curriculum covering key areas in medicinal chemistry, including organic synthesis, pharmaceutical analysis, drug metabolism, spectroscopy, computational chemistry, and AI-driven drug design, as well as quality control. Students will gain a solid foundation in both theoretical knowledge and practical applications. Students in this program will learn from leading researchers in pharmaceutical chemistry, combining theoretical foundations with hands-on laboratory experience. The key research directions within the program will include the Design and synthesis of novel therapeutic agents, Analytical method development and validation for pharmaceutical compounds, Drug metabolism, pharmacokinetic profiling, and stability studies, as well as computational drug design and molecular modelling.
Master of Pharmacology and Toxicology
The Master’s Program in Pharmacology and Toxicology at the School of Pharmacy, Newgiza University, is designed to foster expertise in translational research, with a strong emphasis on experimental models that bridge innovative lab discoveries to real-world clinical solutions. The program prepares students to tackle pressing global health challenges—from drug development to environmental safety—by integrating advanced in vivo techniques and molecular pharmacology.
This master’s program emphasises interdisciplinary research across several high-impact domains. Core areas of investigation include neuropharmacology and central nervous system (CNS) disorders, oncology with a focus on chemotherapy-induced toxicity, as well as cardiovascular and metabolic pharmacology. The program also addresses a wide range of toxicological challenges, including organ-specific and developmental toxicity, as well as the effects of environmental pollutants and heavy metals. Additionally, neuroscience research extends to the field of addiction science. These integrated research themes support the development of innovative therapeutics and enhance our mechanistic understanding of drug action and toxicity.
Master of Pharmaceutics and Industrial Pharmacy
This Master’s program provides advanced training in the design, development, and manufacturing of pharmaceutical dosage forms.
It begins with a comprehensive pre-master phase covering essential topics such as Nanomedicines, Polymers in Drug Delivery, Formulation of Natural Products and Cosmeceuticals, Kinetics of Stability and Stability Testing, Advanced Pharmacokinetics, Quality by Design (QbD) and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Pharmaceutical Manufacturing, Instrumental Analysis, and Personalized Medicine.
Students must complete a practical component to gain hands-on experience in formulation, analysis, and industrial techniques. The program culminates in the submission of a research thesis supervised by distinguished professors in novel areas of drug delivery, such as nanoformulations, drug targeting, solubilisation of active ingredients, solid dispersions, solid dosage form development, cosmeceuticals, among others.
This program prepares graduates for careers in the pharmaceutical industry, regulatory affairs, or further academic research.
Program structure
Postgraduate programs at the Faculty follow the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS). The total number of credits required for the master’s degree is 80 ECTS credits, equivalent to 40 credit hours.
To be awarded the master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences in any of the offered programs, a student must fulfil the following requirements:
- Completion of general courses totalling 8 ECTS credits (equivalent to 4 credit hours).
- Completion of specialised courses, as determined by the relevant department, totalling 32 ECTS credits (equivalent to 16 credit hours).
- Preparation and submission of a master’s thesis, which is evaluated as 40 ECTS credits (equivalent to 20 credit hours).
Eligibility and Terms of Acceptance:
To be eligible for admission to the master’s programs at NGU, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Hold a Bachelor of Pharmacy/ PharmD / PharmD clinical degree from a recognised university.
- A minimum cumulative grade of “Good”
Admission
The application online will be available twice every year:
- Fall Semester:
– online application: from the 1st of July
– Study starts in October (for 15 weeks)
- Spring Semester:
– online application from 1st of January
– Study starts in March (for 15 weeks)
Admission Process:
- Filling the online application form
- Pre-screening of applicants by the School of Pharmacy Admission Office
- Personal interview with the academic committee.
- Successful applicants will receive a provisional acceptance email.
- Admission will be confirmed only upon submission of all hard copies of the required documents and payment within the specified deadline.

Required documents for the application
Academic Required Documents:
- Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from one of the faculties of pharmacy at Egyptian universities with a minimum overall grade of “Good”, or an equivalent degree recognised by the Supreme Council of Egyptian Universities.
- Academic transcript covering all courses completed over the five-year study period leading to the bachelor’s degree.
Non-Academic Required Documents:
- Approval from the employer to pursue further studies, or a letter from the Central Administration of Pharmaceutical Affairs (for freelance pharmacists or pharmacists under governmental assignment).
- An official letter from the employer confirming that the applicant will be available two days per week during the study period.
- Original birth certificates (Computerised)
- Copy of Egyptian national ID (For Egyptians Only)
- Copy of passport (required for International applicants)
- 4 personal photos (size: 4×6)
- For Egyptian Males Only: a document clarifying their military service status.
