UCL Launches Partnership with Egypt’s Newgiza University

In January of 2016, a delegation of leading UCL officials and professors visited the NGU campus to undertake a thorough assessment of the university’s capabilities and capacity for providing the finest higher education available, in line with UCL’s international standards. NGU’s groundbreaking campus, with a focus on innovative learning and an engaging research-based education was found to be highly impressive, as were the long-term plans to establish an international centre of academic excellence. Senior faculty and staff from the Medical, Dental and Pharmacy Schools at UCL will work closely together with their NGU colleagues. This entails strategic planning, organization and governance of the new programs; infrastructure and educational resources development; development of curricula and learning resources; faculty and senior staff recruitment; faculty development and education quality assurance. The visit by UCL’s representatives was extremely successful, paving the way
for a long-term partnership, and in April 2016, NGU and UCL officially entered into an academic collaboration.
