Cairo University Honors Dr. Ahmed Sameh Farid in Recognition of His Scientific and Academic Career at the Science Day Celebration

On a night embodying loyalty and appreciation for scholars, and in the presence of high-ranking state officials and academic leaders, Cairo University honored Professor Dr. Ahmed Sameh Farid, President of Newgiza University (NGU), during the “20th Science Day” celebration. This honor comes in recognition of his distinguished scientific and academic career, and in acknowledgment of him as one of Cairo University’s most prominent alumni who successfully lead major educational institutions with competence and distinction.

The ceremony was held under the patronage of Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and supervised by Dr. Mohamed Sami Abdel-Sadek, President of Cairo University. The event was attended by Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development and Minister of Health and Population; Dr. Hala El-Said, Advisor to the President of the Republic for Economic Development; as well as a distinguished group of ministers, the Grand Mufti, and judicial and academic leaders.

Dr. Ahmed Sameh Farid was honored at the opening of the ceremony, as Cairo University celebrated its alumni who have assumed the presidency of Egyptian, private, and international universities, affirming that the “Cairo University School” is the primary source of national leadership.

Dr. Mohamed Sami Abdel-Sadek, President of Cairo University, noted that Dr. Ahmed Sameh Farid’s leadership of Newgiza University embodies the historic mission of this venerable institution in producing cadres capable of assuming positions of responsibility with efficiency and international competitiveness.

He added that honoring Dr. Ahmed Sameh Farid and his fellow university presidents is “a message of loyalty to every scholar and researcher who contributed to elevating the university’s distinguished stature, and a reaffirmation that the university will remain a beacon of thought and a living conscience of the nation.”

The ceremony concluded with the presentation of commemorative shields and group photographs of the University Council with public figures and honorees, in a celebratory atmosphere reflecting the Egyptian state’s appreciation of the value of science as the sole driver of comprehensive development and the knowledge-based economy.
