Under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Lamis Ragab, Vice President of Newgiza University (NGU), the School of Medicine proudly signed a cooperation protocol with Misr El Kheir Foundation, one of Egypt’s leading nonprofit organizations dedicated to eradicating poverty, illness, and illiteracy through sustainable human development.
The agreement was signed by Prof. Dr. Lamiaa Mohsen, Dean of the School of Medicine, and Eng. Sherif Azouz, Director of the Volunteer Department at Misr El Kheir Foundation. This collaboration forms part of the national “Basma” initiative, which aims to structure and empower volunteerism across Egypt—promoting a culture of social responsibility and civic engagement among youth.
The signing ceremony was conducted under the umbrella of the Community Service and Environmental Affairs (CSEA) sector of the School of Medicine and attended by Prof. Dr. Dina Nabih and Prof. Dr. Nadida Gohar, Vice Deans of the School; Dr. Marwa Elshabrawy, Director of UCL Healthcare Collaboration Programs; Dr. Waleed Abdelhamid, Program Manager; Dr. Nagla Hussien; and Ms. Emtsal El Sayed, Volunteer Program Officer at Misr El Kheir Foundation.
This partnership reflects NGU’s commitment to integrating community service and volunteerism into medical education—empowering students to not only excel academically but also contribute meaningfully to society.
Through this initiative, NGU aims to nurture a new generation of physicians who lead with knowledge and serve with compassion, ensuring that healthcare excellence goes hand in hand with humanitarian impact.
