School of Pharmacy – Newgiza University (NGU) in academic collaboration with University College London (UCL, ranked 4th worldwide) will be holding a conference under the patronage of
Professor Dr. Tamer Essam,
Chairman of the Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA),
The conference will discuss the challenges facing the pharmacy profession from all its aspects: Regulatory, Industry, Pharmacy Practice, Research, and Education. Additional emphasis will be given to the stakeholders’ perspective on tackling the current challenges facing the profession and proposing innovative solutions and pathways.
Our program includes national and international leading experts as well as oral and poster presentations. NGU conference provides excellent opportunities to disseminate research, share best practice, network with colleagues, and refresh clinical knowledge.
The conference will include four main sessions:
Session 1: Roadmap for Pharmacy Profession: Stakeholders’ Perspective
Each panel member is welcomed to highlight the goals and vision of their corresponding organizations in light of the current issues related to the pharmaceutical industry and the healthcare system in Egypt. Hot topics with controversial opinions will be open for discussion by the profession’s stakeholders.
Session 2: Localization of Pharma Industry: Challenges and Opportunities
The aim of this session is to discuss regulatory grade research for modernization of national pharma industry with a highlight on some case studies on generics, biologics, and medical devices.
Session 3: Disruptive Innovations: From Bench to Market
The aim of this session is to tackle the challenges of bridging research institutions and the needs of the pharmaceutical industry. This session will also introduce the regulatory perspective on how to introduce and integrate new approaches and cutting-edge technologies.
Session 4: Empowering Future Pharmacists: Modern Versus Traditional Learning
The aim of this session is to highlight the role of Pharmacy schools in providing the market with qualified graduates. The session will focus on different teaching approaches implemented in Pharmacy programs. The session will discuss the impact of the excellence year (sixth year of study) on the competence of pharmacy graduates in Egypt. It will also address the role of international programs accreditation (ACPE) in improving the quality of education.
