Diabetes Professional Diploma in collaboration with the Arabic Association for the Study of Diabetes and Metabolism (AASD)

 

Diploma Overview:

According to the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) Diabetes Atlas (1.1th edition, 2025), approximately 589 million adults (aged 20-79 years) are currently living with diabetes worldwide. This represents a global prevalence of 11.1%, or roughly 1 in 9 adults.

Key IDF Statistics (2025)

  • Total Patients: 589 million adults.
  • Undiagnosed Cases: Over 252 million people (more than 4 in 10) are estimated to be living with the condition unaware of their status.
  • Future Projections: The number of people living with diabetes is projected to rise to 853 million by 2050—an increase of 46%.

Objectives:

This professional diploma is well designed for health care professionals to cope with updated multidisciplinary virtual basic, applied and advanced knowledge about diabetes, its comorbidities and complications.

Diploma Duration:

One year conductive through three courses, each course will consist of two modules each module will be seven weeks duration.

Course Modules:

Our online Diploma in Diabetes allows you to study for just one calendar year and is a part-time, distance-learning course.

  1. First course: Basic diabetes and diabetes management
  2. Second course: Applied Diabetes
  3. Third course: Advanced Diabetes

Commitment: 15 hours per week

Class size: 25-30

Format: 100% Online Courses

The diploma will be delivered in collaboration with the Arabic Association for the Study of Diabetes and Metabolism with the participation of international faculty.

Structure and Content:

The structure of the content has been designed by leading professionals in the Diabetes Sector, with extensive experience and recognized prestige in the profession, backed by the volume of cases reviewed, studied, and diagnosed, and with extensive knowledge of new technologies.

Methodology:

This training program provides you with a different way of learning; Lectures – Assignments – Essay preparation. You will be presented with multiple simulated clinical cases based on real patients, where you will have to investigate, establish hypotheses and, finally, resolve the situation. There is abundant scientific evidence on the effectiveness of the method. Specialists learn better, faster, and more sustainably over time.

Certificate:

Certificates will be granted to participants based on each course attendance and exam. Diploma certificate will be granted after fulfillment of the 3 courses.

Who can attend? 

  • Doctors
  • Health Care Professionals

Applicants will typically be registered healthcare professionals who have a day-to-day exposure to people with diabetes. They may be part of a team which delivers care, a leader of that team, or a practitioner in diabetology. Our diabetes courses are for health professionals including Internists, Diabetologists, Endocrinologists, Family Medicine General Practitioners, Podiatrists, Pharmacists, Dieticians and Pharmaceutical Representatives.

Accreditation is restricted to registered graduates of medical schools.

Requirements:

The diploma is open to Health Care Professionals (HCP) with the following criteria:  

  • Graduates of English Medical Universities; Medicine or Pharmacy. 
  • If not a graduate of an English Medical University, then ILETS score 6 is required.  


Next Round:

End of May 2026 – May 2027

The first course “Basic diabetes and diabetes management” will start at the end of May 2026 (every Saturday for four months).
